We had a couple of 39ft+ tides this month and the waves along the west and north coasts were spectacular – locals and tourists
piled down to locations such as L’Ouziere, about half way along St Ouen’s Bay, to watch the waves and breakers.
Shortly after this picture was taken, there was a mad rush into Big Vern’s, the café at L’Ouziere slip, for some welcome hot drinks and food.
A favourite with locals, we can really, really recommend their All Day Breakfast (vege option available) to fortify one before or after a walk!
This second picture, also taken recently when we were going for a ‘blow away the cobwebs’ walk with the family, gives an idea of what the beach is like – it’s lovely to walk along at any time of the year 🙂
And, if you’re into riding, sand yachting, kite surfing, windsurfing or surfing, there’s plenty of that going on too!
NOTE: Please, before going on any of the beaches in Jersey, be aware of how quickly the tide comes in (faster than you can walk or jog on the east coast!) and of the currents. Click here for Jersey Coastguard tips.
