Jersey Black Butter Making

A few days after the cider festival at Hamptonne we have the chance to participate in the production of another traditional apple-based treat – Jersey Black Butter.

Visit the National Trust for Jersey’s headquarters at The Elms on 22 October and join in with the apple peeling. Cooking and stirring starts the following day and on 24th, starting at 10am, the finished black butter will poured into jars, ready for sale. There will also be pumpkin carving and live music. Helpers are needed for all three days and no doubt there will be a little sampling, too!

The Elms is at La Cheve Rue in St Mary, JE3 7AE.
