St Aubin’s Christmas lights switch-on

Yesterday evening saw the parish of St Brélade's Christmas Lights switch on in St Aubin - locals and guests went along to the Parish Hall area to browse the medley of Christmas stalls, join in with the carol singing (3 local church choirs, a local primary school, and more) and the sparkling lights switch on. Christmas season arrives in Jersey!

Not for Jersey Christmas lights from early November! We do it in style from the end of November at the start of the many Island-wide Christmas festivities and celebrations. This evening was lovely around St Helier and town was crowded with cheerful people - locals and guests alike. One of guests pointed out this video, so we hope you like it! (more…)

Jersey’s First General Election next week!

We have a different political system here - we elect Senators (Island-wide mandate), Connétables (per parish) and Deputies (per district); this year all voting is going on at once. The hustings have been very interesting, and we especially made sure to go to the ones where St Aubin is involved - as that's where the Porthole Suites are! Annual Dragon Boat Race – easy to get to from Porthole Suites Jersey
