Autumn is a lovely time in Jersey – so many quiet beaches… some hardy souls are still paddling and swimming, but we’re sticking to walks in shoes or wellies! At mid-lower tide, one of the Island’s favourite beaches, St Brelade’s Bay, is fabulous to visit, and the cafes are all still open if you fancy a hot drink or food.
You can walk along the sand or along the prom/wall from the tiny harbour right the way to La Cotte at the far end of Ouaisné (‘Way-nay’) Bay. If the tide is in, you can nip over the wooded headland to get to Ouaisné.
Parking is always free at the Ouaisné and is free in St Brelade’s Bay from November to the end of March.
If you fancy walking there from Porthole Suites, it’s straightforward, especially if you go via Ouaisné – but there are a few hills.
