St Aubin’s village was delightfully busy and vibrant over the Easter break, especially during the sunny Sunday and Monday. Thanks to JD and GR, guests at Porthole Suites, who reminded us to add the Gunsite Café to our list of where to eat breakfast – it’s not strictly speaking in the village, but it’s an easy 15-20 minute amble along St Aubin’s beach (or the promenade if the tide is in) to get there.
We thought we had better check it out on Easter Monday to see if the snacks, meals and hot drinks were as good as we remembered, and they were!
Some locals and tourists were sitting inside, but most were making the most of the sheltered outside eating area.
Others were sitting on the beach or playing ball over the net that’s there for anyone to use. Some were playing with children and others were walking dogs and watching the gulls and geese… and still others were awaiting the parachute drop – always good to watch!
